Cross Stitch

For many of the designs in this listing we have tried to give you the stitch count and the fabric the designer stitched it on. Don't forget that if the design calls for 32 count linen and you enjoy aida, you can easily convert to a 16 count aida. Here is how to convert. If the design size is 96 wide by 110 h then just take your fabric count, either 11 (in place of 22ct), 14 (in place of 28ct) or 16 (in place of 32ct) and divide that into your stitch count. For our example your design size would end up being 6" x  6.875 (or 7"). Remember to add enough fabric for some white space around the design as well as extra for framing. We always suggest an extra 3" all around so now your fabric would need to be 12" by 13".

We also try to give you the brand of threads used in the design and whether the designer has given DMC equivalents for any specialty threads used ie. Weeks Dye Works or Gentle Arts Sampler threads. Please remember, you will never get the same look as the model when converting to DMC. The variations of overdyed threads is what give the piece its character.
