While this product is used by quilters to fix dyes in cotton fabrics, we have used it to fix dyes in cross stitch fabrics and cotton threads with great results. With the addition of all the hand dyed threads available today, if you plan to wash your stitched piece when complete, this is a great product to consider. Use hot water, with Retayne in it and put your threads or fabric in it. Let it soak for 5 minutes without agitating then rinse in cold water and the dyes will be preset. Now you can stitch with your threads and wash it in warm water when complete.
