A new addition to our thread lines are some of the most beautiful hand dyed silk threads we have ever used. Vikki Clayton from Hand Dyed Fibers has a beautiful palette of hand dyed silks that are wonderful to work with and switch out for any other hand dyed threads. And at, $3.30 for a 5 yard skein who wouldn't want to use silk. Here is some important information taken from her website:

"I use only the highest lightfast and colorfast rated dyes in the industry. All the dyes I use have a lightfast rating of 6 - 8, meaning that the colors used will remain unchanged for 50 to more than 100 years of light exposure with proper mounting and display. These dyes are rated "Suitable for artistic use" by both the International Standard ISO 105-B and by the ASTM D5398. These same dyes have an acid dye washfast test rating of 4 - 5 (on a scale of 1 - 5) meaning that these dyes are extremely resistant to washing out of the fiber when affixed."

Please remember that screen shots of hand dyed threads are not always accurate although these are very close. And, dye lots can change so plan your projects accordingly and purchase enough thread to complete the project. Since this is a new product for us, we are stocking limited quantities in all of the colours shown. If your project requires numerous skeins to complete we are happy to special order them in the same dyelot but you will have to fit in to our ordering cycle.
